The Fun book is a supplementary book which offers further material at book 2 level. Some children can work from this book alongside Book 2 or 3. Others may prefer to have a break from Book 2 or Book 3, work through the Fun Book and then return to the main book.

Pieces

This book is comprised of songs that children sing at school eg Incy Wincy Spider, Jingle Bells, This Old Man, London Bridge, Hot Cross Buns, We Wish You a Merry Christmas etc.. Each song has lyrics written within the stave in order that children can sing along. Most pieces are accompanied by imaginative and colourful illustrations that are designed to be motivational.

Technique

This book is designed to help those youngsters who need a little more time to develop secure finger control and coordination between the hands. Therefore the content and structure of the pieces is kept simple throughout. Most pieces are 8 bars long. No indication of staccato or legato is suggested (this can be suggested by the teacher in response to the ability of the individual).

Rhythm

Lyrics are written below the treble stave thus offering support for the understanding of the rhythm.
